The GodFather Editor's Review
The GodFather is an audio file management application. It allows you to carefully organize your collection of mp3, ogg, mpc, ape, flac, aac, apl, wv, mp4, ofr, spx files.
You can import your entire collection of audio files and organize it into genres, albums, artists, etc. You can rename your files and edit or update ID3 v1 and v2 tags. The best thing is that you can batch rename or update file names and tags. In case your track information is incomplete, you can connect to the Internet and automatically download data from freedb.org, www.allmusic.com, Amazon.com, etc. You can even grab images from Amazon.
You can easily manage playlists, re-encode tracks using LAME, Ogg Vorbis or mpcenc codecs. You can also play your favorite songs using the in-built player. It might take you a short while until you get accustomed to all its features, but I believe it's worth the effort.
Pluses: You can add up to 4 pictures per album. You can store detailed info for each artist like biography, and other miscellaneous data. Folder tree views of your mp3 directories and categories. The possibility to export playlists or libraries to XLS, HTML, or playlist file.
Drawbacks / flaws:
In conclusion: An excellent free audio file management software.
